There is a god mode for admins without mods. EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat), VAC and the Rust devs currently have no way of stopping all the Rust hacks out there and until they get the game to a more stable version without so many frequent changes, its a waste of time to develop a solid anti-hack system. Prepare for the wall of text.Īs far as hacks go, acidrein1 is correct in what they can do. I'll try and address your questions as best I can in the order you asked. Thanks for taking the time to read, if you'd like to help out please feel free to reach out! And if you'd like to hop on my server some time please drop me a PM (I don't want to break advertising rules here). I want to stress the importance of our users, we don't pay for the server just for ourselves but want to encourage a friendly community-driven environment for them. Are there any things we (as admins) should be doing to make it more fun/secure for our users? We (the other admin and I) do random daily drops at popular locations and fill crates with low-mid tier gear/resources to help fuel the economy and prevent grinding.Īre there any really popular plugins we should consider installing to enhance the users experience? (we were planning to keep as Vanilla as possible besides maybe Oxide). Off-topic: Any hints/suggestions for an admin? Currently running a London based (better ping for my friends and I) 20 slot procedural map size 3800. Please let me know, will be very grateful :) Is there a "god mode" admin command I can use? Or do I need to install Oxide for such functionality? I would guess aim-botting/wire-framing, item spawning, no clipping & god mode are capabilities of a hacker but if not, what should I look out for? I have no idea what "hacking" affords the user to do on Rust.Īre there any tools to help me detect hackers more easily? Currently I just teleport x where x is player-name and "shift" + "L" to watch what they're doing from a distance. One of these players messaged me advising that a hacker was active on the server and that I should ban him, I decided against this until I could witness some illicit activity myself - the problem is, I'm not sure what hackers can do I've never come across one before. It's seen some minor popularity and has a few active players. I'm relatively new to Rust but have been running a server for a few days with a friend. /r/RustConsole (Rust console discussion)./r/playrustservers (Server advertising).Support powered by DigitalOcean Other Links Join the discord for discussion and support. r/PlayRust Public Servers US Official Servers If you like to discuss items specific to console, please use r/RustConsole.Ĭlick here for a full explanation of our rules.
